A brand new comic series is on the way Masters of the Universe fans!
Dark Horse Comics has just revealed a four issue comic series beginning this September called “Masters of the Universe: The Sword of Flaws“.

Written by writer Tim Seely and artist Freddie Williams II (who were the creators behind the recent “Turtles of Grayskull” comic series) this appears to be the first non-crossover Masters of the Universe comic series in quite some time not tied to the Netflix Animated Series “Masters of the Universe: Revelation & Revolution“.

This all-new He-Man series will be “firmly rooted in the classic world of Masters of the Universe.“
Here is the full solicitation:
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Sword of Flaws #1
A legion of Heroic Warriors protects the magical realm known as ETERNIA. They are led by TEELA: Captain of the Royal Guard, MAN-AT-ARMS: weapons master and combat instructor, and the powerful and heroic HE-MAN. These heroes, known as the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, keep threats like the evil Skeletor and his minions at bay. But when an ancient and evil artifact is unearthed from the depths, the Masters of the Universe will have to scour the land in search of this Preternian power . . . or risk it falling into the hands of their greatest enemies.

We’ll see you next time!
Rad. This feels like the last nail in the coffin for Revolution. After Andra that could be it.
This reads like a kids book introduction to MOTU.
“A legion of Heroic Warriors protects the magical realm known as ETERNIA. They are led by TEELA: Captain of the Royal Guard, MAN-AT-ARMS: weapons master and combat instructor, and the powerful and heroic HE-MAN. These heroes, known as the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE"
Perhaps this is entry level content for new fans lured in by the movie and all such excitement. Still, this is pleasant to wake up to.
Oh man… Now we’re talking! This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for for a decade. The strict Motu lore without having to knock on the neighbours’ doors asking for a pinch of salt or pepper to spice up your cooking (lol).
Why not an ongoing series instead Darkhorse?
I am still hoping we get a sequel to Revolution in comic book form at some point. The creators acted like we’d get a continuation in some form at least and comics don’t take the same resources as animating another season would.
I hope so too. And then I hope all the comics are reprinted together in a hardcover edition.
A back to basics approach. This should please the majority of the fandom.
Teela has a gun again! Is this a secret movie tie-in?
Seeley and Williams again? I’m stoked this is coming out and they are cool guys but I say shake up the talent a little.
