There are a great deal of Masters of the Universe collectors out there that like to purchase more than one of their favorite action figures.
Often keeping one mint in packaging and another displayed on their shelf, this purchasing-multiple-figure-behavior among collectors (one would expect Mattel to embrace) was actually penalized today when fans ordered the Origins “Cartoon Collection” Vultak figure.
That’s right. When Club Grayskull members were allowed to order the “Cartoon Collection” Vultak figure today… a day early (a perk of being a member)…
…orders were capped at a quantity of one instead of the usual three. Members of course could order more Vultaks after the early access expired, but this would result in the Club Grayskull Membership paying twice for shipping fees.
Fans were very displeased, but apparently Mattel heard the fans loud and clear and remedied the situation. Now the Vultak early access window has a quantity limit of three, with a promise to refund your freight if Club Grayskull Members order more Vultaks within the window:
Per Mattel:
“Members Early Access purchase limits have increased based on fan feedback. If you place an additional order for this item during the Members Early Access window, Mattel Creations will refund your shipping fee on your first order of the same item.”
We are very pleased that Mattel changed their course on this. Well done Mattel.
Club Grayskull Members can CLICK HERE (no affiliation) to order more Vultak figures (up to three total) if they so choose.
And a big thanks goes to the always awesome @motuoriginscork for the ‘heads up‘!
Look at that. Good on them but think of this stuff ahead of time Mattel.
Yup, they’d save and make money all at the same time.
