The United Kingdom has a new Mattel Creations website!
Thanks to the always awesome community member @motuoriginscork, we learned that back on January 9th, Mattel launched a brand new uk.creations.mattel.com website with the announcement that they were stocking some merchandise in the UK!
While this is great news for UK fans (and hopefully makes ordering MOTU items for them easier across the board), it doesn’t end there. The new UK Mattel Creations website has also given us an early look at the upcoming Masters of the Universe: Origins Rio Blast figure! Check it out:
Masters of the Universe Origins Rio Blast Action Figure
Rio Blast made his first appearance as He-Man’s quick-draw deputy in the Mattel mini comic, “The Fastest Draw in the Universe.” A member of the Heroic Warriors, this cyborg cowboy destroys his opponents with a pack of blasters on his back and an arsenal of laser guns concealed in his chest, legs, and arms. Making his first-ever appearance in the Origins line, Rio Blast is armed and ready to fire up your display.
Masters of the Universe® OriginsTM Rio Blast Action Figure
Over five inches tall, with 16 points of articulation
Includes laser guns in his thighs, chest and hands
Also comes with a pack of blasters on his back
Mini comic book included
FULLY LOADED
Rio Blast joins the Origins line for the first time, and he’s strapped for the occasion with laser guns concealed in his legs and chest.
BEHIND THE DESIGN
Rio Blast is a cowboy-themed character, blending elements of the Wild West with futuristic technology. As of now, he’s only been featured in comic books.
PACKING A PACK
He carries a pack of blasters on his back, which he pulls over his head during battle to become a laser-blasting, one-man army.

@talonfighter He’s a bit of an awkward fit, but at least he’s a cyborg. I’d like to see his background properly explained, which I hope his comic will do.
Will it reduce the shipping cost?
He looks completely awesome. I’m ecstatic that they didn’t “update" his 70’s shag hairstyle.
Now we’re talking. Finally another true vintage figure and Rio looks great. Take my freakin money.
That is a tasty figure. It looks just like the vintage.
YEE-HAW!
Also he’s on the US site now.

I don’t like Rio Blast much. To me he doesn’t fit. Why would Eternia have cowboys? Unless he came from Earth it feels stupid

Curious about the three silhouetted characters on the right of the mini-comic cover.
There’s also Monstroid (you can see his eyes in the background) on the rear artwork.
And the UK Cretins site doesn’t recognise a Northern Ireland address even though we’re part of the United Kingdom. Well done you utter morons.
