It’s that time of year again!
Three years ago Netflix launched their very own virtual fan convention titled “Geeked Week”, a streaming event established to promote and celebrate all of Netflix’s genre series and films.
Not only did it become a huge success… but it became the exclusive venue to announce a second season to “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” called Masters of the Universe: Revolution!
And now, as we anticipate another season to this awesome animated trilogy… (Masters of the Universe: Rebellion? Reunion? Redemption?)… we have to wonder: Will a third season be announced at Geeked Week just like season two?
It may indeed happen, considering Revelation/Revolution creatives Rob David said “We are not done” in regards to more Masters of the Universe animation AND Ted Biaselli and Tim Sheridan were seen together at an appropriate time where a third season treatment would be written. (More info on that can be found here.)
So here are all the details of next month’s Geeked Week 2024 in case you want to check it out.
“Today Netflix announced that its fourth annual Geeked Week celebration will take place the Week of September 16, culminating with a live, in-person fan event in Atlanta on the evening of Thursday, September 19. This is the first time Geeked Week will bring together fandoms from series, films and games at a live fan event.
“Celebrating Netflix’s biggest global fandoms, Geeked Week will highlight Netflix’s most beloved Geeked titles. More details on the week of programming will be released in the coming weeks.
“Bookmark GeekedWeek.com and join us on YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook, and TikTok to get the latest on Geeked Week and your favorite Netflix genre shows, movies and games.
“The countdown to Geeked Week starts now!”
So mark your calendars for Monday, September 16th through Thursday, September 19th and stay tuned to ForEternia.com for all the updates… and keep those fingers crossed!
We’ll see you next time!
Man I hope so. It will be good to have a complete trilogy in this brand.
Arms fingers legs and toes! I’m crossing them all y’all! 😆
Hehe I am too. I want She-Ra back in animation so bad and I also want Melendy Britt to return and do the voice. This would be a dream come true for me and I think it would be a wonderful way to celebrate She-Ra’s 40 year anniversary.
I would not mind if she voiced another character. Alan Oppenheimer returned, but did not reprise any of his roles. I think it would be out of place for Melendy Britt to do so. Grey Griffin did an excellent job as Despara. I would really like to hear her take on Adora and She-Ra.
BRING KELDOR BACK OR GTFO
@keldorsnose Absolutely – Shatner completely stole the show.
I pray it’s announced!
LET’S GO!!
I will be so excited if they announce a 3rd season for two reasons. The first reason is obvious but the second reason is my family had a viewing party for Masters of the Universe Revolution and it was one of the best times of my life. Five episodes was the perfect length for one sitting. I told my wife we have to do this again if they make another one and we are really going to party hard it can happen again.
I hope it has more epiosdes if this is the end.
@catra Kevin Smith said the episode count was determined by a Netflix algorithm undoubtedly based on being profitable. How does one negotiate with an algorithm that another episode is for the betterment of the series? We live in strange times.
Me too. Five episodes felt too short. I would like to see 8–10.
I just realized something, there was a rumor about He-Man would appear in Fortnite earlier in 2024. If Netflix Geeked gives us a release date that is THIS YEAR then we will probably see He-Man in the Fortnite store at or near that date? I mean that is what happened with lots of other IP, Alien skins came back recently with the new movie!
@catra There can’t be a release date this year. It takes about 2 years for a show to go from announcement to release.
(edit: but then would miss the 2024 release, unless they will announce the collab to promote the show?)
One of the producers said 18 to 24 months once they start. The announcement can come months after they start.
I have been waiting 4EVER!!!!!!! for Fortnite skins. I hope it becomes truth because I am done being patient.
If we don’t hear something definitively here, the show is in definite trouble and they are more worried about the movie and any animation connected to that movie. Perhaps, they could do a cartoon based on their Thundercats/He-Man mix or another future line. It also depends how much they think Masterverse has left in the tank.
I would be so hyped for a He-Man and Thundercats crossover cartoon and have a geekgasm watching Lion-O and He-Man fighting side by side with the sword of omens and the power sword! 🤯
@firefly MV is showing signs of fatigue. Almost all the SDCC reveals were just variants of existing characters, and none of them were mind blowing like the ones we got last year (NE Whiplash, NE Clawful, NE Ram Man, for example). Not a robust character selection…
@durendal That NE Mer-Man is pretty slammin.
I can’t wait for more MOTU Revelation/Revolution. 😀
Latest trailer for Geeked makes me think it will not be until 2025, they showed us nothing in the trailer.
Then again I know Gundam was also not teased in this trailer so? Tiny hope still? 🥺
@catra When Revolution was announced during GeekedWeek 2022 they only showed viewers a new Revolution title, a teaser poster and the hosts briefly talked about it. I suspect they would follow the same path if a new season was greenlit. 🙂🤞
Looking like it won’t be announced.
It is not the best of signs. Blood of Zeus from the same animation studio debuted its second season in May and already announced a season 3.
@firefly I’m already nervous about it don’t make me more nervous! 😆
Man the only good news is it seems He-Man and Skeletor is very likely to come to Fortnite…
(a relible insider source claimed so)
I am hoping for more characters than just them but we gotta wait and see!
Not only do they need Netflix to want to renew it, but Mattel has to want to focus money, time, and effort into it as well. It seems like Mattel is more focused on the movie and any potential related shows. I’m guessing the third season comes in comic form only, but hopefully I am wrong.
