This past November we reported on some comic buzz that we were hearing where more comics were on the way in the Rev Continutity (comics that connect to the Revelation/Revolution universe.) That report can be found HERE.
Well now Mattel has officially announced this new “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” comic series by Dark Horse Comics and it’s a prequel! Check it out:
Evil meets evil in Dark Horse Comics and Mattel’s newest Masters of the Universe prequel comic series, Masters of the Universe: Revolution! Coming May 15, 2024, available for pre-order now at your local comic shop.
What is really intriguing is this time instead of Kevin Smith joining the writing team with Tim Sheridan and Rob David (like the official Masters of the Universe: Revelation prequel comics), Executive Ted Biaselli has joined the ranks! Wow!
Also what is intriguing is why is Mattel’s announcement revealing the cover for issue #4 to readers (instead of issue #1)… and why is it asking the question: Who is Despara?
Does this mean the character of Despara… (the other name for He-Man’s twin sister Adora when she was the Force Captain of the Evil Horde)… is in “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” as well? Or will another person be donning the Force Captain costume and name? Or will she not appear in the series at all and this is just an add-on for fans?
All answers will be revealed when assumingly this four issue limited series run “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” prequel series hits comic book shelves this May 15th!
And be sure that you are caught up with the comics in this continuity thus far by clicking here and checking out our MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE REVELATION & REVOLUTION CONTINUITY CHECKLIST! We’ll see you next time!
What? WHAT? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Could this mean Adora is in the show? DON’T TEASE ME JUST TELL ME!
If it was really Adora wouldn’t she be one of the choices on the cover?

Hot on the heels of our previous report (found HERE), the “Masters of the Universe: Revolution" four-issue prequel limited series announced today will focus on the early days of Skeletor and Hordak. Written by series creatives Tim Sheridan, Rob David and Ted Biaselli with art by Daniel HDR, here is Dark Horse’s official synopsis for…
Just came to post this. This is getting interesting and the hype grows.
Seeing the name Despara on the cover of a Revolution comic is surprising.Â
Is that supposed to be Skele-teen or someone else on bottom left?
If Despara is not Adora it’s trash.
I believe during the Return of Superman saga, DC Comics published an issue with the cover basically asking who is the real Superman. Turns out none of the ones are the cover were. So Mattel/Dark Horse comics could be doing the same here.
@he-metayer you are right. I still own that whole run of comics, from his death to hos return. There were four “supermen" all of which were not the real guy.
Lots of people think it is Skeletors daughter!
