Back in 2018, actor Dolph Lundgren returned to the 1985 role that first made him famous. The athletic actor reprised his role as Ivan Drago, the Soviet Union boxer who was the main antagonist in the Sylvester Stallone blockbuster film “Rocky IV”.
Considering Dolph Lundgren was willing to return to one of the biggest franchises that made him famous, would he ever be willing to return to another? That is exactly what the 66 year old actor was asked by Comicbook.com.
In 1987, actor Dolph Lundgren landed the lead role as He-Man in the”Masters of the Universe” feature film. While not an immediate success, the film has since become a cult classic and (hopefully) will become a motion picture again over at Amazon MGM Studios. (Read more about that HERE).
Well during Dolph Lundgren’s promotional tour for his new film “Wanted Man”, Dolph was asked whether there was any chance he would return to play He-Man once more. Here is what he briefly had to say:
“[An] Older He-Man? I don’t know. As long as… my costume can be a little more substantial. It was about the size of a stamp, in those days. I think I’d just have to add a few layers of costume.”
Albiet a humorous response, it is still exciting to hear the seasoned actor wouldn’t rule out playing He-Man once more. Just the possibility of Lundgren returning in the role, perhaps as a seasoned older King He-Man like he was featured in comics (and as an action.figure), is quite thrilling to contemplate.
And considering how Hollywood loves to bring back nostalgic favorites as of late, the next one being the return of Beetlejuice, it would be wild if Amazon MGM or even Netflix brought Dolph back as the most powerful man in the universe… one more time… in a movie or series.
Wouldn’t that be amazing. We’ll see you next time!
Dolph is still a magnificent specimen at 66. Why not? Michael Keaton came back as Batman
I would give my left nut for this to happen.
Is that your favorite one? I need to know your level of commitment here bro
I too would give @kraken ‘s left nut for this to happen.
@kraken lol!
Same. Well, either one really.
I rather have Dolph as King Randor and Chelsea Field as Queen Marlena if she’s still acting.
Dolph coming back would be amazing. My hopes are low. We can’t even get a new movie underway.
Hey you are ruining our hopes with your intelligent foresight and logic! 😉
Welcome bro!
