Masterverse Princess of Power Grizzlor Wave 9 packaging artwork and bio revealed

Thanks to the Instagram account of Roy Juarez, we now have a look at the packaging artwork for the next figure in the Masterverse Wave 9 action figure line; Grizzlor!

Known as the “Hairy Henchman of the Evil Horde”, this Grizzlor “Princess of Power” subline packaging artwork (illustrated by artist Eamon O’Donoghue) is so hair-raisingly good!

Check out these pieces!

Grizzlor’s bio has been revealed too:

“Few are feared across Etheria more than the bloodthirsty beast, Grizzlor. Captured and brainwashed by Hordak, Grizzlor now loyally serves the leader of The Evil Horde as gate keeper of The Fright Zone, as well as feral soldier to be unleashed in the battlefield.”

Stay tuned for more expected previews for Wave 9 Masterverse figures like Buzz-Off and Faker!

We’ll see you next time!

        1. @skeledog I’m fine with the wait, I’m just hoping we get more of the actual princesses too. But considering the fact that Frosta is currently peg warming my local target despite being half off; I am not optimistic. :/
One over at Mattel Creations often said female magic users often sell worse, I wonder if the same is true for Shadow Weaver. 😐

Is there still a bias towards female figures? I thought we were over that.

          2. @catra @elder

This is just my guess of course, but I suspect Catra is on the right path here. 🙂 I think this has to do more with brand popularity. The popularity of Masters of the Universe (the He-Man side) exceeds the brand reach of the She-Ra IP, and then to even a greater extent, the Sun-Man IP. And less sales in the latter two lines in comparison isn’t a reflection of the character attributes but the strength of brands they’re in and how that extends to co and minor characters.

I guess what I am saying is if female characters weren’t being purchased by many consumers due to her sex, we wouldn’t have three Evil-Lyns in less than two years! Three! 🙂 So I am VERY HAPPY that doesn’t seem to be the case.

          3. @admin Yeah if Teela sells more figures than She-ra indeed there is some major brand power involved, now we do not know that?
It could be both Teela and She-Ra is about the same while Frosta and Shadow Weaver sells less?
I wonder if they started selling 200X He-man and 201X She-ra in the same wave which would sell better?
Or let’s just go straight to Mattel pulling out a Catradora deluxe box with Catra season 5 and Adora? Clearly trying to bait as many people over at reddit and Twitter to buy em? 🤑

          4. I wonder if they started selling 200X He-man and 201X She-ra in the same wave which would sell better?

200X He-Man just because most of those fans were raised on those vintage toys. Those babies were groomed to collect. Most 201X Shera fans feels like a different fanbase that aren’t rabid collectors like the motu nuts.

Yeah probably but the SPOP fanbase has been starved for figures, most new fans never had a chance to get the figures since they were sold out before season 5 ended…
The common thing most of them says over on reddit they will BUY ANYTHING SPOP even download Fortnite some of them which, they do not even like the game!

          6. @catra this is why I think they need to do glimmer and Bow next. They are well known characters within the POP ip and it’d be a good way to bring in the Netflix she ra fans into the greater masters fan base. Plus I miss Bow’s mustache
They could but if they want them to buy the majority of them may be probably waiting for the DreamWorks versions… If Mattel ever decide to make them? I think it is 50-50!
