”Masters of the Universe: Revolution” won’t debut until 2024 per Mattel C.E.O.

Well, it appears He-Man was wrong.

Back in January of this year, while promoting his Broadway debut, Masters of the Universe: Revelation He-Man actor Chris Wood sat down for an interview with Playbill.com where he was asked about his upcoming future projects. Chris Wood then proceeded to tell the interviewer that he was returning as He-Man in the anticipated sequel series “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” and then excitingly revealed that it was coming out “this year.” (Revisit that article HERE.)

Well unfortunately, Mattel is singing a different tune. During Mattel’s annual Virtual Investor Presentation today, Ynon Kreiz, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mattel indicated “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” would not be coming out until 2024. Here is his entire quote:

Ynon Kreiz Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mattel

“Looking ahead to 2024, Masters of the Universe fans will be in for a treat with the recently announced return of Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe: Revolution series on Netflix featuring Mark Hamill, and the one and only William Shatner will also be joining the cast.”

Well, it’s certainly going to be a long wait Motu fans. Let’s hope the release of “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” is closer to the beginning of 2024 than the end.

We’ll see you next time.

  1. Ah. I was really looking forward to seeing it this year. Only show at the moment I’d plan a Netflix party of one.
Guess it goes on the 2024 list. Hopefully early in 2024. I’d noticed Kev had been silent about it on the socials. Although that could be for other reasons, too.
Maybe they’re filming/voicing Revolution and the 3rd part err.. guessing maybe “Resolution"? back to back?
Either way the waiting is excruciating!

That’s my guess and hope too! Mark Hamill. William Shatner Lena Headey. Now Melissa Benoist  I just can’t see Kev putting together an all-star cast like this just for five episodes. Fingers crossed that there’s more.😃🤞

    1. Well… Been hyped to see the return of the show. I suppose I can try and live a little longer to see where this show is going.

Please do. I’m hoping this results in the quintessential Motu trilogy in the vein of The Lord of the Rings!🙂

This is how I see it sort of going:
      Part 1) Revelation
Part 2) Revolution (Fighting the Horde / Hordak. Maybe introducing She-Ra if they can negotiate the rights)
Part 3) ? (Finally taking the fight to the 1980s version of Horde Prime).

I suspect (if they are planning a trilogy) that in the vein of Empire Strikes Back, this middle entry i.e. Revolution will be the darkest of the series.

Regarding She-Ra, while I wouldn’t bet on her making an appearance, someone in our community suggested last year that “Masters of the Universe: Reunion" would the perfect title if She-Ra entered the mix, and I have to agree! ❤️

  2. I know this is a bit on the older news but I was really looking forward to this coming out. It could have been worse though. I could have had to wait a week for each new episode to be released, or did they release the revelations all together to bing watch?

    1. Consider this – during production they got the rights to She-Ra for this series and Mellisa Benoist was cast as Adora. They just said she was Teela as a misdirect.

That would be an impressive psychological manipulation!

      No kidding!

That would be such a huge Mind F bro! I love it but they wouldn’t have the balls to do that.
