With great sadness we must report that legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy has died yesterday at 66 years of age, after a long battle with illness.

Most famously known for his wonderful protrayal of Batman in the show “Batman: The Animated Series” that debuted back in 1992, Kevin continued voicing the dark knight for decades to come, spanning across various animated series and films. Kevin Conroy’s Batman performance was praised by fans and critics alike, and he played wonderfully against his foil, acclaimed voice actor Mark Hamill as the villainous Joker.

The two voice titans were reunited again in 2021 when Kevin Conroy joined the stellar cast of “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” as the treacherous Mer-Man, and shared a flashback scene with Mark Hamill’s Skeletor. And Conroy was absolutely terrific in the role of the sea dwelling villian.

Conroy also stepped into the evil role of Hordak as well, in the new CG television series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”.

We have no idea if Mer-Man is planned to return for the upcoming follow-up series “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” and if Kevin Conroy has already recorded dialogue for the upcoming show, but either way, we are so thankful for his wonderful contribution to the history of Masters of the Universe (among so many other things) and will truly be missed.

Our condolences to his family.

Kevin Conroy (1955-2022)

Rest in Peace
