King Grayskull Preorders get a May release date amongst flooded shelves.

Ever since the King Grayskull Masterverse Figure was announced and preorders went live on February 1st, fans have been highly anticipating the release of this deluxe figure so they can add him to their collection. Well now, we are happy to report that the retail chain Target has informed consumers that preorders will ship by a release date of May 6th… a release date 12 days out after fans have been finding them on shelves for weeks.

King Grayskull’s road to release has followed a very odd path from the beginning. In February, Target originally informed consumers that they would be waiting over 7 months to get their preorders filled, somewhere between September 10th to September 15th. What a long wait!

So one can imagine the level of shock that came to all that pre-ordered, when a fan found a King Grayskull in a Target Store in West Palm Beach, Florida so many months earlier on April 7th!

Suddenly more King Grayskulls began flooding shelves in certain U.S. states and fans were buying them up and canceling their pre-orders as fast as they placed them.

Fans who pre-ordered King Grayskull began wondering what was the purpose of pre-ordering at all, if they would be the last to get their hands on the figure? It certainly was a valid question. But finally, Target has informed customers via e-mail, through their website and app that King Grayskull has finally been given a release date of May 6th.

What an odd and frustrating journey it’s been for an otherwise fantastic addition to one’s Masterverse collection.
