How actor Tiffany Smith views Andra and Teela’s Relationship

After the debut of Part One for “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”, there was a lot of interest and conversation in regards to the relationship between the Teela and Andra characters. Many wondered were the adventurers just good friends, or were Teela and Andra something more, in a romantic relationship perhaps?

Speculation about Teela and Andra ran rampant among the motu fan community, until a couple of months ago when actor Tiffany Smith (who performed the voice of Andra) sat down with Bleeding Cool and discussed her character in “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”.

When Tiffany was asked about Andra and Teela’s relationship, she laughingly caveated that while she is not the writer and doesn’t know, that after she read the scripts, Tiffany likened Andra & Teela to two small-in-stature friends (from a very large fantasy franchise):

“When I went into it and I started reading the episodes and getting to know the characters, I’m a huge Lord of the Rings fan, for me, it was Frodo and Sam. It’s this best friends relationship.”

Although Tiffany Smith calls the relationship between Teela and Andra a “best friends relationship”, she’s happy for viewers to get what they want out of it:

“I love that anybody can watch the show. If people can find a connection or feel like part of them is in the show, then makes me so happy. I grew up watching cartoons like this, and I’m multi-ethnic, I’m mixed. So it’s not often that I got to see characters that looked like me. I love the fact that this show is bringing more representation out there, and it just feels really, really special. If anyone can see a piece of themselves in the characters on this show, I think that that’s really special and really important.”
