Back on July 11th, we reported that Rob David, Vice President of Creative Content at Mattel Television (the division behind the critically acclaimed Netflix Animated Series “Masters of the Universe: Revelation & Revolution”) would be hosting an event at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that (among other things) will give fans insider info about “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” as well as a “sneak peek of What’s Next!” While Rob David charmingly spoke about his personal experiences like growing up as a huge Star Trek fan, as well as shows he's championed like "Masters of the Universe: Revelation & Revolution"…
We have the Power!
YAY! Y'all can have the toys. Except snake Teela I want her. 😂 This is the news I care about. AJ thanks for always keeping us informed. We love you for it.
The best news! We need to complete the trilogy! We need to introduce Adora back into MOTU animation and perhaps finally merge the worlds again in animation!
unless mr. david's hinting at another completely new he-man show (seperate from rev or cgi) that mattel tv have been developing in secret, i'd say it's a safe assumption he's referring to a part three here....as best he can, bless him ! (we know how these things work guys, all he can do for the moment is tease ! 😁 lol)
y'all remember how we first found out about revolution, don'cha ? mark hamil's tweet about being at the studio ? lol
all the pieces are in place for part three; as we know, revolution has been very well-received and the fact that netflix allowed the team to keep the despara scene in means that netflix themselves have seen the potential in a third season from the beginning.
Hot damn that is good detective work AJ. You know Ted and Tim ain't just hanging out bro they gotta be doing the story outline. Despara is coming! WOOT! WOOT!
🇺🇸 SNOUT SPOUT FOR PRESIDENT 🇺🇸
I was hoping for a much clearer picture on a Revelation/Revolution sequel. It kind of goes without saying they will try to do at least one animated show loosely based on the live action movie like Transformers Prime was. I just hope they don't view a part 3 as something they no longer have the time for outside of comics.
“ so I’m not saying anything but just so you know we are not, we are not done, we are not done thinking of ways to have fun with those characters in the world.”
Thinking of ways to have fun those characters doesn't sound promising to me for a third season
So hyped! I hope they go back to a 10 episode season! I loved Revolution but my only complaint is storylines felt rushed because of the shortened episode order, which I think Netflix heavily suggested. Still, awesome news!
I watch Kevin Smith's YouTube podcast, Fatman Beyond, and he has said that Netflix number crunching dictated only 5 episodes for Revolution.
Part 2 of Revelation dropped Nov 2021 and Revolution was announced May/June 2022. So Netflix has made their decision. A Season 3 would come 2026/7, so it's possible Netflix is waiting until some big Netflix event to announce it.
But I would guess we are getting a new cartoon. Something again aimed to move toys for kids. My wild guesses are He-Man Racers to get the Hot Wheels side of the building on board, or a Turtles of Grayskull cartoon. NEW ToG figures would be 5poa with crazy action features. (Again, wild speculation.)
BTW I expanded Rob David's page on Wiki Grayskull. There wasn't much there before.
Netflix definitely knows the fate already for the show one way or the other. I'm not sure if there are other good opportunities to make an announcement this year, but SDCC was definitely one of them. We may never get an official cancelation type announcement if it is as those are usually reserved for the bigger guns. Some shows just fade away or you get an offhand comment from a writer on Twitter or something like CGI He-Man. You'd think Kevin Smith would say something at some point, though.

I think this is just a way of him saying something while not really saying anything.

The already tried that with the children's Netflix show and it didn't work. I doubt Mattel will try to move He-Man toys to actual kids again anytime soon.
Blood of Zeus, which is also made by Powerhouse Animation, got a renewal announcement after 2 months this year for a third and final season.
we need more!
