@smitty-81 I think it could but they don't seem to mind tooling new gear\armor so I'd imagine Blade is going to primarily be a standard buck with new armor.
@dynamicg maybe, but I've been noticing some interesting things with the armor on some of the newer figures. Like ToG Skeletor and Mer-Man having holes for turtle shells, Shredder's armor being big enough to fit the slightly larger Turtle bucks. I'm not sure if they have anything planned but they seem to be building in possibilities.

@smitty-81 Gotcha. I hope they are planning something! I've loved the ToG line. My take is that the two hole setup is a cross compatibility thing specifically for the ToG lines. The vines \ tendrils\ wings \ Casey Jones bag \ shells all clip onto the same system. The shells just dominate the line. I don't think that setup has made it's way onto any of the MOTU line, it would be a cool way to increase the modularity so I'd be OK with it.
@dynamicg the holes definitely are the same on Mossmutant, Turtles Skeletor, Mer-Mutant, Casey Jones and Sla'Kar. Possibly Hordak and April O'Neal too. Also the He-Man vs Vecna set used Mossmutant's armor including the vines. Will all the potential I'd personally love to see Turtles of Grayskull Warrior Winged Leo and Donnie.

@smitty-81 I just can't with all these new amateur toytubers but the fig looks pretty cool.
@kraken Is a degree or certification required to make one a professional? Didn't they all start out this way?
@dynamicg you make a good point but even people just starting out can put a bit more effort into what they are doing. Just look at my channel I know what my limitations are and work within them.

Exactly. But @DynamicG is right too somewhat. I don't know man maybe I am getting more cranky and impatient in my middle age. I'm looking at it like this. Put the amateur shit on social media but if you start a channel try to look a little professional.
Â
@smitty-81 Sure, there is a scale and some people are on different points of it. Dude's not going to get followed by me, but when I'm just looking for a first look at the figure I personally don't care that much about production. Pixel Dan et al will review this later with a turntable and nice lights and I'll eventually hold it myself.
I think it's funny to be tired of amateurs on a platform whose existence continues due to the constant arrival of new amateurs. I'm also "new" to the collecting world, so to me most of these folks are the same. I also work in academia and teach freshman, so I'm not too bothered by that stuff maybe 🙂
@dynamicg yeah this guy put minimal effort into this video. When I did reviews I at the very least tried to make the lighting decent. I might do another video soon. I think I can get things set up a bit better than before.Â

@smitty-81 No disagreement on the criticism of the production at all. I would fully agree that's it's barebones at best and I'm also someone annoyed by the state of people's breathing \ nails \ etc. IÂ just have a very low bar for said content, I expect more from Dan, or The Toy Habits crew. Hell, when my stuff went online in 2020 I bought a mic setup and learned how to clean up my lecture audio myself with audacity. So the effort will stratify.
What I've been taking from this and all the random transformers reviewers that pop-up is how loose distribution channels are right now and how the inconsistent distribution allows someone who just got lucky to start a channel and get lots of attention just because they got something early. Stuff seem to fall off of trucks and onto youtube faster than ever. Sometimes a person who I like gets it (Mr. Home Arcade and Extendar) and others it's this dude.
These folks are also an interesting counterpoint to the claim that may of the youtubers are too cozy with the industry. Why yes, Pixel Dan got a case of figs from Mattel, but ToyBoyGoneWild or whatever got it from his boy Bryan, so it's a wildcard!

You got that right gettin it early is big. Pixel Dan was the man for years bruh. Hes nice and makes good videos and had no competition but once mattel stopped giving free figures to him early and some other channels started doin it Dan looked less god mode. its probably why hes doing other videos lately. What makes Dan god mode is he is the chris columbus of toy reviews at least for motu. now if I catch other reviews like man childs or even AJs reviews before I see Dan's reviews pop up I sometimes skip Dans and I used to never skip his vids at all. I cant be the only one. he must be seeing a slump in views for his reviews and that wouldnt of happened without the fd up toy distribution
