I'm considering knee replacement surgery for my right knee, which sustained a torn meniscus three years ago and from wear and tear many years ago after my service as a USAF search-and-rescue combat medic.

My biggest concern is that I have a rigorous five-days-a-week exercise regiment including heavy free weights and on my treadmill. I get that I will need to discontinue my treadmill for a time and gradually return to walking on it first, along with all the other knee exercises I would be doing.

My potential therapist tells me I will be able to return to upper body resistance training after just a week or two, concentrating only on my upper body and that sounds acceptable to me.

Has anyone here had knee replacement surgery or known someone who has had it and can give me some input? And yes, I get that most of you are far too young to be concerned about or had knee surgery but thanks anyway.
