Written by This past October we reported that Plaion Pictures had announced a brand new Five Disc Blu-Ray Set featuring more classic episodes from the 1983 classic Filmation cartoon series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”.
Advertised as a “Volume Two”, this Blu-Ray release (expected to contain the balance of He-Man episodes not contained in “Volume One”) was first slated for a January 15th, 2025 release… but since then has been placed in a perpetual state of delay. (Plaion Pictures’ website now indicates a release date of December 2025, but we spoke with Plaion and they informed us December is just a placeholder date until a new date is decided upon).
While multiple delays also occurred with “Volume One” and certainly is frustrating, at least we have brand new Volume Two official cover art to share! Check it out: (Artist yet to be identified.)
While not meant for resale in countries like the United States, fans around the world became very excited with these Volumes because it comes from the same company that previously released “The Eternia Collection” boxset.
The Eternia Collection boxset became the holy grail of Filmation He-Man and She-Ra fans, because it not only contained every episode from both classic series (and lots of bonus material)… but contained the highest picture quality of those episodes to date and came on region-free discs. (Although their discs had German menus, every episode could be watched in English on region-free discs.)
And while not true HD Masters from its original source, these upscale from PAL master Blu-Ray discs did become the highest quality release to date for Filmation He-Man (and She-Ra) fans.
Hopefully Plaion Pictures will announce the new release date for the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983) (Vol. 2) (5 Blu-ray) set soon.
