“Its a bit of a secret”; Dolph Lundgren teases appearance in New “Masters of the Universe” Movie!

It looks like it’s happening MOTU Fans!

Back in February, we reported that while in London (the same place where “Masters of the Universe” was filming), actor Dolph Lundgren teased via social media that he was working on a secret project… and being fitted for a wig!

Considering Dolph was in London and being fitted by a wig, we suspected the first He-Man would have a cameo in the new live-action ā€œMasters of the Universeā€ movie…. perhaps playing ā€œKing Grayskull” (essentially the first He-Man) in a flashback.

Well now, talking to Men’s Journal to promote his new “Hard Cut Vodka”, actor Dolph Lundgren was asked if he would be participating in the New “Masters of the Universe” Movie. This is what Dolph had to say:

DOLPH LUNDGREN: "It's a bit of a secret, but I can't say much, but yeah, maybe I'll get involved somehow. We'll see."

It sounds like a confirmation to us! Dolph also talked about the movie itself, and the wonderful nature of Prince Adam:

DOLPH LUNDGREN: "If you think a new He-Man movie makes you feel old, I feel old! I was in it! They've been trying to remake the picture for at least 15 years, and I'm glad they're doing it. There's a great cast, a great crew. It's a big budget picture with MGM/Amazon. I think they're doing a great job."

"Prince Adam has a bit more romanticism to the character than other superheroes. Marvel and DC are a little harder-edged, There's something magical and childlike about it. And even though they're kind of making an adult picture, there's something soft and positive about that character."

Exciting news MOTU Fans!

We’ll see you next time!

  1. Fingers crossed! I’d be thrilled if he were cast as King Grayskull. He would suit the role perfectly, and there are several reasons to justify that. — He was the first He-Man in a live-action movie, which made him the face of the franchise for almost 40 years. His character has grown wiser over time.

Dolph could also play Adam’s grandfather King Miro. I don’t care which. I am just happy Dolph is in the movie getting the proper respect he deserves.
