Written by Most fans know actor and weapons expert Anthony De Longis as the Evil Master of Swords Blade in the classic 1987 film “Masters of the Universe“.
But what many fans do not realize is Anthony De Longis is an accomplished voice actor too, celebrated in roles like Marshall Leigh Johnson from the Red Dead Redemption video games series.
So given his talent, it was not surprising to learn that Anthony De Longis tried out for a role in the 2021 Netflix Animated Series “Masters of the Universe: Revelation“. It was surprising to learn, however, what character he read for: The Lord of Destruction himself… SKELETOR!
Speaking recently to the For Eternia Official Podcast, you can hear Anthony briefly talk about his attempt to land the Skeletor role at the YouTube clip HERE.
Of course, we all now know that actor Mark Hamill won the role and did a great job, but it would have been really interesting to hear Anthony’s take on Skeletor.
Putting Skeletor aside, matching Anthony De Longis with the appearance of the character Blade in “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” feels like a missed opportunity, but that rendition of the character unfortunately had no speaking lines.
