CinemaCon is the largest and most important gathering of movie theater owners from around the world.

Happening in the Caesars Palace hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada right now, Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films revealed at CinemaCon a “Masters of the Universe” Movie sizzle reel that showed off the cast on set in their costumes, massive sets in London, weapons and He-Man with his hair blowing in the wind!
Here is how many participants have described it:
"Set pieces that were shown included the planet Eternia and He-Man’s iconic Sword of Power as well as character costumes. “We’re not making a cartoon here, we’re making a live action fantasy film,” the filmmaker said. Other shots showed Galitzine’s rigorous training that included sword play and weight lifting. “He is transforming, it is amazing to watch,” Blumenthal praised. The reel closed with a close-up of Galitzine in his He-Man garb with the blonde locks that drew cheers from the crowd."
"This is clearly the first tentpole take of the Mattel property with many of the characters, i.e. Teela, Man at Arms, Skeletor, looking exactly as the toys and then some. God knows when the studio will drop the reel, but we catch Jared Leto as Skeletor, Camila Mendes training on jump wires and running sideways, and Galitzine in full sword swinging mode. The BTS reel showed the massive castle sets being built with plenty of green screens."
"“It’s the rebirth of this incredible world,” said producer Jason Blumenthal from set. Director Knight discussed his long-held love of the toys and beloved ’80s animated series (he had a He-Man haircut as a kid, he revealed). He also showed off some huge set pieces that earned screams of approval from the crowd, including the fictional planet Eternia and He-Man’s iconic Sword of Power.
"There was also plenty of B-roll from Galitzine’s workouts — wielding swords, bench-pressing and, in a criminally short snippet, flexing his biceps in a battle costume with the freshest blowout we’ve seen on a man in some time."
"A BTS clip shows He-Man’s sword, with the director talking about the toys he had as a kid. “By the power of Grayskull!” is heard in the background. We see a lot of practical effects (mixed with VFX of course), accurate costumes from the cartoon, and huge physical sets. It ends with He-Man’s hair blowing in the wind."
Andrew J Salazar from Discussing Film:

None of this footage has made it online unfortunately but so far everything sounds amazing!
Filming for “Masters of the Universe” is currently underway with the movie scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide on June 5th, 2026.
We’ll see you next time!
It sounds promising. I get the impression the budget is huge.
“blonde locks that drew cheers from the crowd"
It amazes me how stubborn I can be sometimes, I mean, even with tangible elements within my reach, I just can’t believe it’s actually going to happen. Probably because of twenty years of disappointment (lol).
You still can’t believe it’s going to happen? I get it’s unbelievable bro, but
Huge practical sets and costumes that are accurate to the cartoons? It is actually possible I am going to love this movie?
It all sounds fantastic. I can’t wait. My whole family will be dressed up and watching opening night.
Huge practical sets? How is it that it won’t just all be CGI? I’m genuinely surprised by that (pleasantly, of course). Cartoon accurate costumes??? So we’re not getting another lame re-imagining of our beloved property by some egomaniac putting his vain personal spin on it? I’m guessing the director is in his mid to late 40’s and grew up with MOTU and therefore has a reverence for it’s origins and is determined to honour that. I AM SOLD.
I guess this gives me a hard deadline of 14 months to finally have my MOTU cosplay ready…
He looks like a doofus in every pic i have seen of him. And the pic in the headline- King Doofus. Its gonna be hard to stomach him in a 2 hour movie. At least there is Teela.
And people’s reactions at cons dont matter at all. Look how they act at star wars cons, when they have the perfect place to boo and let it be known, but its all cheers and soiled undies, then its boo and bitch and moan until next con.
This indeed sounds very promising- wishing everyone involved the very best!
✨ “the freshest blowout we’ve seen on a man in some time" ✨ 😩
cartoon accurate visuals, practical sets, actors doing (mostly) their own fight choreography, a live-long fan at the helm (shout out to travis knight)
everything a girl could want !
I’m literally praying I live long enough to see this!
Stay on target….. Stay on target….
