Written by Last week it was announced that actress Alison Brie, star of television shows like “Community ” and “Glow”, has been cast as the Evil Warrior Goddess Evil-Lyn in the upcoming live-action film adaptation “Masters of the Universe” by Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films.
Well today Alison Brie posted an Instagram story that she began doing research for her role… featuring a classic Masters of the Universe book! Check it out:
Yes, in Alison’s possession is the Golden Books’ “Masters of the Universe Giant Picture Book – Evil Warriors“.
Published in 1984 and illustrated by Fred Carrillo, this 24 page vintage book features 12 pages of full color pictures plus facts of basically who’s who in regards to Evil Warriors in Eternia.
It’s exciting to see Alison researching her role of Evil-Lyn… and using such a classic book to do so!

I think it’s great. Is that going to give her all the insite? No, but it’s a cool step and shows that, as of now, they are trying to understand the world, the fans, the lore. And we ALL know the lore is all over the place….now, if we could just get confirmation that Leto turned it down…please. please turn ot down.
I agree. It shows Alison is taking initiative which makes me luv her even more! I didn’t know until now Evil Lyn could turn into Screech. I guess that makes her an evil version of the Sorceress.

Hope all these actors reading these books and hopefully getting into it, when they get the script, they all band together and say “um this Earth shit doesn’t belong” but we know they wont and only post pics online for hype and really dont care.
To be fair, the Earth stuff is budgetary.
If you wanna donate 100 mil to a cg scene crew, then by all means. But it can work, it just has to be handled well.
This is just empty fan service dictated by marketing suits.
