Masters of the Universe collectors around the world got very excited when Mondo revealed a flocked variant version of their 1:6 scale Masters of the Universe Panthor figure at Power-Con “America’s Mightiest Toy Convention” back in August 2023.
A limited edition originally slated to be available back in November 2023, the flocked Panthor was never released as scheduled, and eager fans have been still waiting for it to come out ever since.
Well unfortunately for Mondo Masters of the Universe fans, it appears the 1:6 scale flocked Panthor may never see the light of day.
Appearing on friend to ForEternia.com, Eamon O’Donoghue’s terrific TheHotToyCast (available to stream wherever you find podcasts)… it was revealed that the focked Panthor project may be dead in the water thanks to technical issues and plastic bans in Europe, per Bob Fulkerson (Director of Product Operations – Mondo)
This is what Bob had to say about it:
"Panthor, wow, this is a tough subject. So, as many advances we made in technology, we still don't have flying cars and flocking hasn't changed from 40 years ago. So, one of the problems with flocked Panthor, is the joints. It's the joints, is that it's articulated which causes rubbing with the flocking and that causes all kinds of customer service issues which I don't think we really want to deal with.
"Additionally, one of the challenges we're facing is there's been new, you know, you folks across the pond over there have passed some new laws with micro-plastics which basically bans flocking in Europe.
"So is flocked Panthor off the table? No, but flocked Panthor requires a lot more work, and I don’t know if flocked Panthor is ever actually going to see the light of day."

So will Mondo ever release a flocked version of their 1:6 scale Panthor? At this point, it really seems doubtful.

Make it a statue with swappable heads and charge us half the price.
@grayskullguardsman I wonder if that would sell. That would be asking action figure collectors to collect a statue.
Mattel seems to be having real issues with production lately.
What kind of blame game are they attempting? 😛 Just flock it like Moss Man and flocked Origins Panthor which are/where both available in Europe.
