New ORIGINS and MASTERVERSE figures teased at Masters of the Universe Celebrity Interview and Product Reveal Panel

Today at San Diego Comic-Con, actor Griffin Newman hosted the Masters of the Universe Celebrity Interview and Product Reveal panel.

During this panel, perhaps the most stunning reveal was when Mattel announced another toy crossover in the works to follow up the successful “Turtles of Grayskull” line: Masters of the Universe and Thundercats! (Read more about that new crossover HERE).

But Mattel also showed off some new upcoming figures in the works for Masters of the Universe: Origins and Masterverse as well. Check it out!

  1. That Skelcon is a jewel, if you zoom in the pic, you will be amazed with the detailed texture of that skull, and it’s terrifying! However, when looking at Fisto, this is one of the rare occasions when I don’t like the NE rendition of a popular character. Also, I don’t understand how the same line delivers figures that knock the ball out of the park like NE Evil Lyn and the Skelcon, but also offers a more cartoony style like that Fisto.

    1. Skelcon is fantastic, isn’t he! I think the body of Fisto is great, although I wish his fist arm had a bicep rather than the robotic looking upper arm. I prefer the unhelmeted head although the hair and beard could do with a bit more finesse. The helmeted head looks too much like Fisto trying to play viking dress up when he doesn’t need to coz he is Fisto.

    1. Mekaneck looks fantastic, but why is he more mechanical for this crossover? I was expecting him to mutate into a giraffe to pay homage to Half-court.

I was thinking either a giraffe, like Halfcourt, or they could finally give us a 200X Snake Man Mekaneck, which I’m kinda surprised they didn’t do.
He’s first on my “to get" list at any rate, he’s my favorite Heroic Warrior!
