1. Do we know if this is the last we’re getting? Are they planning anything after these 5 episodes?

When Season 2 was announced back in June 2022, they also confirmed it was only going to be 5 episodes.
So we need plenty good word of mouth, and get as many folks watching (binging helps the algorithm?) REVOLUTION. So that a possible Season 3 can be greenlit. Hopefully that Season (Retribution, Resolve, whatever it will be named) will have more episodes than just the five that S2 got.

Do you think they would ever would go back to 10 episodes again if Revolution is a big hit? Or would Netflix use it as proof that 10 was too many?

I don’t think we are ever gonna see 10 episodes again even if it’s a smash hit. I think that boat sailed bro.

1. @exitwest i’m right there with you. shoot, i’ll take a WHOLE 25 minute episode showing us more of lynn’s time in darksmoke as granamyr’s nurse.
i simply adore their relationship (at it’s best, they are so sweet to each other….at their worst, we’ll….at it’s worst their relationship was hilarious!)
call me kooky, but i would have liked an episode where we see how lynn prepares a (particularly snobbish) dagon’s meals, listening to granny’s old youthful war stories, granamyr’s smarmy one-liners, lynn’s snarky comebacks. come on, you can’t tell me that the dialogue ALONE wouldn’t be enough to justify a whole episode. 😂
i hope we at least get to see more eternian dragons in future seasons, i hope their not done with the dragons yet.

1. Thanks to the magic of timezones I got to watch it just as it dropped. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone so I’ll be vague.
Wow. Just-wow. Blew me away. I loved it. It was brilliant. One certain development – YES, FINALLY!
One other development in the last episode made me slightly…sad? I get it, it makes a certain sense, but it’s a big change….
If we want the third in the trilogy, best things we can do is rate it on IMDB, “like" it on Netflix and put it on your Netflix lists. And rewatch, rewatch, rewatch. Good Omens fans – wanting to get their 3rd season greenlit – put it on in the background for days. I’d also say get it trending on Twitter but I doubt that counts for much these days with the state of Twitter and advertisers, plus the bad actors on there tend to attack and personally I can’t deal with that. YMMV.
Anyway — summarising my thoughts: 10/10 awesome, animation seemed upgraded or better or something, story was ace, character development spot on (and got a big loud “YES!!" from me at a certain part).
Loved to see these characters we grew up with on the screen again.

1. @stillyoungatheart i agree hun, one hundred and ten percent ! the animation was soooo slick in those 1-to-1 fight scenes and also very expressive in the more intimate/emotional moments

as for the sad moment in the last episode, are you talking about the very last scene with lynn ? the epilogue scene ? because yeah, that DOES make me kinda sad too as with this new responsibility that lynn has been chosen for, it’s likely that we may be seeing her a lot less in the show going forward
(still, she’s earned this responsibility. she’s worthy, not to mention she’s been through SO MUCH 😭)

2. This was a blast from start to finish. There’s no way they’re not doing you-know-who in the next season. There’s literally zero point of bringing a certain alter ego in at the last minute if they hadn’t sorted out certain rights issues for the future.

1. @zodac i couldn’t agree more, mighty zodac 😉 the second stinger before the end credits and also…the 4th issue of the upcoming revolution comic mini-series.
[spoiler title="that brief “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it" moment in episode 3 (during keldor’s flashback) did you see that ? we see a marleena in a child’s bedroom/nursery, then it cuts to a shot of a blonde infant crying, before cutting to an image of hordak leaving through a broken window….clutching something in his arms."]
i think next season is going to be huge for us fans of a certain blonde beauty

3. my head is positively reeeeeeling !!! 😫😭😭😭😭
by the gods ! i don’t have the words, i just finished revolution today and it…..was…..

EVERYTHING i dreamed of and M O A R !!
i couldn’t with how funny it was, like srsly guys… there was some one-liners in there. “lord ‘look-at-my-abs’ adam", “i was always the forbidden fruit that made his [he-man’s] loin-cloth lift" like GUUURRRRL, i was NOT prepared for that ! 😭 “i want the plan-plan, he-man"

4. Dear Fellow MOTU Fans.
You are doing yourselves a disservice if you do not watch this show. I show cheated on my family and watched it before tonight’s watch party and it’s everything I wanted a MOTU cartoon to be. It made me laugh it made me cry. It made me hopeful for the future. This is the best He-Man show in history.
You need to watch this show!

1. @adoralovely That’s awesome! I wish I had a group of fellow women to celebrate and watch with, but I did manage to get my fiancée into it, so that’s a big win! ❤️
Just like you, it was nice to have her nearby to squeeze my hand while I cried 😭
Such a wonderful show!! Completely blown away by how amazing it is!!!

5. I loved the show yall!!
💜 What I loved.

Teela and He-Man sitting in a tree. K I S S I N G 😆
Teela’s outfits
Hordak & Motherboard & Skeletor
Lyn and Granamyr

🤏What needed improvement.

I didn’t tear up like I did in Revelation?
Less emotional
Needed more episodes

I can’t wait to watch it again!

6. This was incredible! I kind of found it a chore to re-watch Revolation, but I wish I could watch this new Revolution story again right now! (I can’t sit and watch for more than two and a half hours.)

This had so many first appearances of things never seen in animation. Not only Battle Armor He-Man and the Green Goddess, (which we all knew were coming,) but SO many other things. I also love how they managed to weave some 200x, Eternity War, 1987 movie, and maybe even New Adventures into it. (The only MOTU thing I haven’t been keen on is the CGI show.
But this show even made me appreciate some of that.). The story arcs of Teela, Evil-Lyn, Adam, Skeletor, even Scare Glow were very well written. Maybe even Masterfully written. I am just totally blown away.

I liked Revelation fine but rewatching 10 episodes of anything feels like a chore to me too. It’s why I can’t seem to get through a season of rewatching anything He-Man especially Filmation. But Revolution feels like a movie to me and I wish they edited together that way. It’s easy to watch in one sitting and I like that.

2. I agree. It DOES feel like a movie. I appreciate it being a “smaller story." like Ted Beserelli (not correct spelling) said on the ForEternia podcast. This is alot of good old fashioned He-Man vs. Skeletor vs. Hordak. With the perfect amount of sword and sorcery.

This is alot of good old fashioned He-Man vs. Skeletor vs. Hordak. With the perfect amount of sword and sorcery. Hey when I say it was kind of a chore…I mean I have watched it three times. Complaints that I had at first I kind of softened my stance on a little bit. I have always felt that the animation, voice acting, score, all of that was over the top and what MOTU deserves. I didn’t like…I was VERY UPSET about Kevin Smith going “We killed He-Man TWICE. If there were review bombs, complaints about “wokeness" complaints from the fandom…he added major fuel to the fire with that little commentary. And this threw a paal of negativity on it from the start. And that is the chore of it. Kevin Smith’s other works, especially Dogma, upset me too, but I watched those more than once as well to find a different angle of appreciation.

This is perplexing to me, because it is effectively not judging the series on its own merits, and allowing the opinions of others to influence your perspective. How the series was marketed, what creators did not or did not say about it, and the opinions of biased and agenda-driven influencers are just noise. They have nothing to do with the quality of the series, which you can only ascertain for yourself by watching it, and forming your own opinions.

7. I was actually really scared for this one, going into it. Everyone kept saying they were improving the issues of there not being enough he man and skeletor, but that wasn’t what i was worried about! I was worried that the pacing would still be a mess (especially with only 5 episodes) and that it would get too caught up in having cool scenes above everything else.
But surprisingly, it worked. Sure, there were a few characters I felt died with not quite enough screentime, and a few questionably quick plot developments.
Overall, though, the plot felt more solid.
I’ll need a bit more time to think over why I enjoyed this more than I did part two of rev. But for now, I’ll just leave it at the fact that I did.
