(Over)Analyzing the Teaser Trailer for ”Masters of the Universe: Revolution”

As a fan, it is often fun to analyze a new piece of content from the brand we are passionate about. Even when it contains a mere 51 seconds of new content from a teaser trailer, methodically examining every frame for interesting details like a detective solving a crime can be often quite fun (and admittedly a case of overanalysis and humorously seeing things that are not really there.)

Well For Eternia has been doing exactly that and posting our results on Instagram, Facebook, X and more. For those who don’t participate on social media (why should they have all the fun) here are some of those results we came up with when overanalyzing the “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” teaser trailer!

KING ME!

While none are an exact match, did the crown accessory with a gemstone that came included with the new Masterverse Revolution “Skeletek” Skeletor action figure perhaps belong to King Grayskull rather than say King Randor or Queen Marlena, based on the ancient hieroglyphics we saw in the “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” teaser trailer? Some of its shape appears very similar.

A PRIME EXAMPLE?

While not a match, the being depicted in the ancient hieroglyphics in the “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” trailer (seemingly opposing King Grayskull’s forces) has a similar design aesthetic to the helmet on the “Horde Prime” Classics figure, brother to Hordak (or father depending on the lore). Thanks to eagle-eyed community member Chris Abel for first pointing it out!

KEEPING US ON OUR (TWO) TOES?

Two toes. Long ears. Pointy teeth. Is that possibly some incarnation of Hordak’s pet sidekick “Imp” that we quickly see in “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” teaser trailer?

HERE KITTY-KITTY!

So who is this trapped underneath Battle Cat in this frame from the “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” teaser trailer? The colors of the boots and his blue right side do not seem to match with Two-Bad. The boots are similar to Trap Jaw’s but his motherboard infused body colors do not precisely match. So who is it?

Will there be more overanalysis to come? Stay tuned to find out! We’ll see you next time!
