Written by When Masters of the Universe fan favorite characters Duncan and Lyn were in the same proximity together, it often created an interesting energy. As assistants to opposing forces for years, that energy was recently explored in the 2021 Netflix series “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” where there seemed to be a glint in the eye of Lyn whenever she talked about “The Most Dangerous Man in Eternia”, along with a tremendous amount of respect.
Well now both Man-at-Arms and Lyn are “partners” in the upcoming Masters of the Universe “Masterverse” comic tale titled “MAN-AT-ARMS-FOR-HIRE”. Told in the second issue of a four comic anthology series, “Masterverse” surrounds a story where the Sorceress and Zodac debate the value of He-Man, as they look upon events in the multiverse. And in one of those universes, Duncan and Lyn are crime-solving partners!
With a variant cover illustrated in a Detective Noir style, ‘MAN-AT-ARMS-FOR-HIRE” promises us a story with “a hard-bitten Duncan and his partner Evil-Lyn take on a strange kidnapping case”. Who is exactly kidnapped, we don’t know, but apparently Eternia is in bad shape because it takes place “in a world where champions have fallen.” Scary times, but it will be interesting to see if “partners” means just a team-up, or something more…
Issue #2 will also feature the teased story of Jitsu, where “on the Harmony Sea, Adam, Commander of the King’s army and the captured thief Jitsu search for the power to conquer Eternia!” Did they just say conquer?
The exciting first issue of “Masterverse” debuts this February 15th 2023, and retails for $3.99 with three covers to choose from! Reserve your copy at a comic shop near you.
