10 THINGS we’ve learned so far about ”Masters of the Universe: Revolution”

Fans are still on cloud nine, ecstatic over yesterday’s breaking news that a new season to Masters of the Universe: Revelation has been finally announced, officially titled “Masters of the Universe: Revolution”.

But even with a new exciting logo (and glorious teaser poster), actual detailed information regarding this new series seemed pretty scarce, so we decided to collect all the information we could find and list it here, so you’ll know what we know, about “Masters of the Universe: Revolution”!

1. Who will return as the series creators?

Thankfully the “Warriors Three” have returned for a new adventure! Ted Biaselli, Kevin Smith and Rob David will all be back, with Christopher Keenan and Frederic Soulie, and Mattel Television producing.

2. Is there an official synopsis for the series?

Yes, according to various trade websites, Netflix released the following synopsis:

  • Masters of the Universe: Revolution is an all-new story that brings the focus to He-Man vs. Skeletor like you’ve never seen them before. It’s technology versus magic as He-Man and the heroic warriors face the forces of Skeletor and a deadly threat to the Planet in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVOLUTION – the next epic chapter in the battle for Eternia.

3. Who will write the show?

All we can officially confirm at this point is Kevin Smith is one of the writers of Revolution, per his official Facebook account.

4. What studio is handling the animation?

Powerhouse Animation Studios confirmed on Twitter today that they are returning for Masters of the Universe: Revolution.

5. How far along is the animation work?

Progress is unknown but Kevin Smith has indicated he has seen the Revolution series’ first animatic!

6. When does “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” take place?

According to the official announcement yesterday at Netflix’s Geeked Week, Masters of the Universe: Revolution is a “sequel series” that “picks up right where Masters of the Universe: Revelation left off.”

7. How many episodes will be featured in “Masters of the Universe: Revolution”?

There will be five episodes that we know of, at the very least. Kevin Smith has revealed on Facebook that he just turned in the final draft of Episode 5.

8. Which Revelation voice actors have been confirmed as returning for “Masters of the Universe: Revolution”

No official cast list has been released, but thanks to various hints, social media posts and announcements, it appears Chris Wood, Mark Hamill, Griffin Newman, Tony Todd and, of course, Tiffany Smith will all be returning! (We do expect the entire cast to return though.)

9. Has any of the actors recorded voicework yet for Revolution?

While there has been no official confirmation that any voicework has been recorded for “Masters of the Universe: Revolution”, actors Mark Hamill, Griffin Newman and Tony Todd have already teased recording sessions for the anticipated new series.

10. When will “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” be released on Netflix?

No date has been announced yet, but considering Kevin Smith indicated he was recently still in the writing process, we expect a release date in late 2023 (at the earliest), but quite possibly sometime in 2024.
