Has ”Masters of the Universe: Revelation” reached efficiency for a follow-up mini-series?

Unlike the children’s CG Animated Netflix Series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” which was greenlit with an initial order of 26 Episodes (with Seasons 2 and 3 already in various stages of completion), “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” was always approved at a total of 10 episodes, and ordered by Netflix as a “mini-series“.

COMING THIS SUMMER. 2D Animated mini-series (10 episodes) ”MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE REVELATION” from executive producer Kevin Smith. And Mattel TV’s Rob David. Animation by Powerhouse Animation (Blood of Zeus, Castlevania). With voice cast; Mark Hamill, Lena Headey, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin Conroy, Susan Eisenberg, Alan Oppenheimer, Diedrich Bader and many more!

Now with the Revelation story fully completed, the main question fans want to know is, will there be a follow-up mini-series, that will continue where the cliffhanger ending left off with Skeletor being infected by the mysterious Motherboard?

Approximately two months ago, showrunner Kevin Smith explained on his Fatman Beyond podcast what needed to happen for Netflix to greenlight a follow-up mini-series to “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”. The show needed to reach “efficiency”.

“We are in a place now where we get to figure out if we get to go again. Because everyone is like you gotta f*cking go again. Well I’m like, that’s up to y’all. Based on the first round of episodes things were looking very positive. Hopefully, based on, you know, dropping Part Two and you know, how many people finished the whole f*cking thing, if that’s all positive, if we reached what they call efficiency, then we might get to do it again. Fingers crossed. So watch the sh*t out of it if you want to see more. That’s how we get to do it again. And I hope we get to do it again. It would be so good to do it again, cause I got ideas.”

And fortunately for us fans, it appears the series is still being watched by audiences to a high degree!

We learned through friends of the site that beginning this month, “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” had been trending on Netflix in the United States for over a week! And it wasn’t just trending in the U.S., but other countries as well, like Australia as of three days ago!

Thanks to friend of the site Mia for the pic!

So is this good news for a potential follow-up mini-series to “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”? Absolutely.

It’s also a positive sign that Kevin Smith (who is notorious for talking about dead projects and keeping his fans ‘in the know’) hasn’t come out and said a follow-up series to Revelation wouldn’t happen. Kevin Smith won’t be likely announcing it (if it does get greenlit), but rather Netflix and/or Mattel would conduct a press release.

So could we be rejoicing over a joint Netflix/Mattel announcement that a new Revelation follow-up mini-series is going into production in the next few months, or even as late as Power-Con 2022 in August? It’s quite possible. Let’s hope!

Until next time.
