Today we’re going to take a quick look at the HE-MAN Masters of the Universe collectible figurine by Altaya.
This hand painted He-Man is the first of a long line of MOTU figurines that Altaya plans to release, with designs that are based on the 1983 Filmation series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”.
Similar to the Eaglemoss figurines (but unfortunately not available directly in the U.S.) this He-Man is the first issue of a subscription one can sign up for, which includes bonus figurines not available through traditional retail outlets.
Advertised at 6 inches (15 cm) tall, when holding his removable power sword, He-Man stands approximately 9 inches (23 centimeters tall) from blade-tip to base.
Made with ABS plastic, while the figurine is solid, the base is not (it’s just hollow plastic.)
We think overall this He-Man is a pretty nifty figurine. It’s well painted and looks great on our shelf, and well worth the purchase in our opinion. But be prepared to pay an exorbitant amount of money on the secondary market, if you’re a collector chasing this entire figurine line from a country it’s not authorized to sell in.
