As we look back at 2021, we’re closing out the New Year with five wishes we hope happens in 2022 for the fantastic new Netflix series Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
Counting down….
#5. A Home Video Release
We MOTU fans tend to love collecting physical media over digital media, and nothing would make us more excited in 2022 about the home video market than a physical release of “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”, with plenty of extras and behind-the-scenes supplementals!
Fortunately, a physical release seems to be almost a certainty at this point, once NCircle Entertainment and Mill Creek Entertainment announced this past August it will be releasing “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” on home video. We’re still waiting on details and a release date, but let’s hope it’s announced soon with plenty of extras!
Here is the NCircle Entertainment and Mill Creek Entertainment press release:
NCircle Entertainment and Mill Creek Entertainment today announced that they have entered into a multi-year physical and digital distribution agreement with Mattel, Inc. Under the agreement, NCircle Entertainment and Mill Creek Entertainment will distribute series based on Mattel’s iconic brands such as Barbie, Thomas & Friends and Masters of the Universe on physical DVD at retail stores across the U.S. and Canada, as well as on digital EST and TVOD.
The deal includes Barbie Dreamtopia Special, Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures (Seasons 1 & 2), Barbie Princess Adventure, Barbie & Chelsea: The Lost Birthday, and Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams. Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go (Season 25 & 26, and corresponding specials), produced in vibrant, 2D animation, Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and the highly anticipated CG series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
As one of the largest independent distributors of children entertainment content, NCircle is ecstatic to partner with Mattel to distribute their iconic titles to kids and families for endless episodes and hours of entertainment either at home, or on the go!
“NCircle is extremely excited to be partnering with Mattel,” says Mary Flynn, VP of Sales, Content Acquisitions for NCircle. “Our primary focus is on entertainment that is accessible and relevant for young children, and Barbie, Thomas & Friends, and Masters of the Universe will be a perfect addition to our product line-up this year, and for years to come!”
“We are thrilled to embark on this new relationship with Mattel in physical and digital home entertainment! This collaboration continues to enhance our ability to serve consumers and the retail community with strong content slates in the years to come,” states Jeff Hayne, Senior VP of Acquisitions and Production for Mill Creek.
Stay tuned for #4!
I would love a DVD/Blu-Ray release of Revelation as well!
