Found Splinter in PA while we were at Hershey park over the weekend. All I need to be caught up is Merman and Leatherhead. I’m glad this line is going to continue bc the new reveals are fantastic!

I have Raph, Leo & Donnie.  Mikey is my favorite, I have the money, Amazon has him IN STOCK and I want to order him. But they are currently charging $29.99 for Mikey & $31.29 for Skeletor. WTF is going on?  Now Amazon has jumped on the SCALPER bandwagon? And NO!  They are not being sold by 3rd party sellers. They both say shipped & sold by Amazon. 

Is this really where toy collecting is heading?  Pretty soon Amazon, Walmart & Target will just put all their stock directly on eBay & join the scalpers.   Kidding, not kidding! This crap is getting ridiculous now. 

And Mikey says 400+ sold in the past month. People are actually paying $30 to a site that should be charging the normal $20 retail price??? The buyers are causing this whole problem. They are ruining it for the rest of us. I can't afford to pay $30-$40+ for every figure. I got into Origins because they were originally AFFORDABLE at $14.99. Damn man, I can't afford to pay the insane prices Manchild & Mr. Home Arcade can pay. 

F***!!!  Try to enjoy your hobby & everybody is out to ruin it for you.  Where are they getting all that extra disposable money from?  I want some of that action.

@sci-fitsunami Amazon has had third party sellers for years, and their pricing algorithm will adjust prices based on those listings.

Especially preorders are usually the regular price. When they come in, it’s often the regular price. But then at some point, maybe when 3rd sellers deplete the quantities too much, it goes up.

It sucks but for Amazon, you kind of have to pay attention. Strike when the prices are ok. If the toy is out for … more than 6 months…? … they may not get any new deliveries and you’re better off with BBTS if possible.

At some point, Walmart also has the right prices for an item, but again, u kind of have to keep an eye out. Perhaps apps can help notifying you.

I’m definitely *never* paying double prices for Origins. Couldn’t even if I wanted to. Sometimes I miss the opportunity and have to pay a little bit more. I search a lot and may even buy an opened one on eBay. I’m always annoyed when it happens though.

I keep refreshing the Amazon page waiting for it to go back down.

I have him pre-ordered on BBTS. But I was hoping to get it shipped immediately. It's super annoying because I could simply order from Amazon right now but instead, I have to wait for a "normal" price. So stupid! 🙄 

It's also really annoying how easy it was to get the other 3 but they have to pull these shenanigans with my favorite. 

LMAO! I just checked all my BBTS orders & I accidentally ordered Mikey twice. I just canceled one. 

UPDATE: Today Mikey is $20.31 so I was finally able to order him.

Despite not officially collecting ToG, I just got my fifth figure, I couldn’t resist the hilarious Mikey with that wig.

Love his expression, and Flying Fists He-Man might just be my favorite Origins variant, so I loved seeing a similar armor on Michelangelo. With his nunchucks, it makes sense!

I"m still searching for Mer Man. He never went up for pre order that I know of and no luck finding him anywhere.

I don't remember exactly where but I saw someone post a store that had loads of them. It was like they sent all the Mer-Mans all to one store.

I haven't seen Merman in the wild.  Found a couple Splinters though. I love this line, it has produced some fantastic figures.  It has set a high bar for the MOTU X Thundercats crossover next year.

It was a Reddit post that had the multiple Moss Man figures. I keep expecting him to suddenly drop everywhere, as Wal-Mart exclusives tend to. I remember when everyone was freaking out over Origins Moss Man, then he suddenly came in and they couldn't give him away.

I don’t really collect ToG but I have already half a dozen figures because the designs are so cool. That Mer Man is fantastic, and if I can find him for normal price, I’ll take the mutated Moss Man, too.

People are literally paying $90 - $150 just for Merman on the secondary market now.  Is he really that rare?  I don't collect the line at all but I was thinking about picking him up just because he looks cool.  But I certainly don't want or need him that bad lol.

Yeah, I want a complete collection, but I'm not paying $80 for Merman. I keep holding out hope that he'll turn up in droves like most of Walmart's exclusives do. But if he doesn't, I'll just have a disappointing hole in my collection. Gotta draw the line somewhere.
