Hello everyone,

I was wondering if Mattel was going to release a New Eternia version of Scare Glow, but I'm not sure if it can really happen because when I was a kid I had lost contact with the Masters cartoon and action figure lines just before the '90s so I don't really know when did the Scare Glow figure go to the stores and if someone had ever done some early drafts, some sketches like it happened to many other figures. I ask myself (and you!) about this because New Eternia is a release, as we all know, of the earliest designs of many of the MOTU characters. Scare Glow would certainly deserve a N.E. action figure with alternative items and features, it would be so cool! But I don't know if it is possible!

Some of the vintage figures do not have known concept art that is drastically different from the finished figure but Mattel still made New Eternia versions of them. I think it's safe to assume as long as the line doesn't die fans will get a New Eternia Scare Glow mate!

(should probably go into the Action Figures sub forum).

Anyway, yes, I think that is a real possibility. Will they do it soon? Hm, not sure. But the "Revelations" Scare Glow is so unredeemably terrible that there is room for a NE release for sure. Heck, I'd be happy if they just do an up-scaled version of the vintage Scareglow 😉

I was watching Pixel Dan's review of the San Diego Comic Con masterverse Scare Glow. The presentation of the figure is really awesome, the only big bad note on the figure is that only the skull shines in the dark. The skeleton panints on the body just reflect the light. What a wasted opportunity.

Well, I hope Mattel's greediness will push them to make a full glowing in the dark figure, in New Eternia style.

Scare Glow is my most wanted New Eternia figure cast in glow-in-the-dark plastic like he should be. They should have made him by now instead of all the goddam Man-At-Arms variants.

The problem with the current Scare-Glow is most people are trying to make him glow under a regular light. But he is clearly meant to glow under a black light. The paint on the body is fluorescent blacklight paint. He looks awesome under black light.

What makes you think Mattel is greedy? I don't mean anything by it I'm just wondering.

Because they just want to earn more money, often sacrifying the quality f their products, as it just happend to the Scare Glow figure and I think to other figures too. Another example is new Eternia Man At Arms: very cool but the leg armor is fused with the left leg. Unexplicable, except for Mattel's aim to save some production costs.
