Episode 21 has dropped at  https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts. And things are going very smoothly for me, Heathcliff and The Catillac Cats at DIC Entertainment.Â
In this episode I make a big decision when it comes to how I’m going to handle being a story editor at DIC. And I get to meet a whole cadre of new writers for this new series I’m working on.
I’m in the infancy of working on Heathcliff and The Catillac Cats when I come to a pretty startling realization about why this series is different from any other in animation…and why I like it so much. Â
I hope you enjoy the latest episode, and, just for fun, go back and view a couple of earlier ones.
Episode 22 has dropped at  https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
Buckle your seatbelts because we’re going to cover a lot of ground in this installment as I jam on story editing Heathcliff & The Catillac Cats scripts. Those two series are going sooooooo smoothly, it’s almost like I’m riding on greased rails.
With everyone for Heathcliff & The Catillac Cats on track, Lori Crawford throws me an unexpected but most pleasant curveball. And speaking of curveballs, separately, we’ll revisit DIC Entertainment’s softballs team with yours truly on the pitcher’s mound again the vaunted Warner’s softball team. And you’re not gonna believe who I have to pitch to at home plate!
Episode 23 has dropped early https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts <because we’re getting ready for our annual 4th of July Party. So Happy 4th to one and all.
This was the most difficult episode I’ve recorded and, truth be told, it was hard for me to get through it and I came close to losing it a few times because I’m talking about a real body blow I took as a writer and a huge challenge I faced because of it.Â
Still, when I started this Vlog I promised I’d tell you about all sides of my writer’s life and that what I’ve done in this installment. It took a lot out of me to record it and I hope you enjoy it.
And along the way you’ll meet true Animation Royalty. It’s funny how, sometimes, the Lord sends you exactly what you need at the exact moment you need it….Â
Â
Â
After an admittedly emotional and difficult Episode 23, Episode 24 has now dropped at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts and I’m happy to say it’s a much more upbeat installment. Having wrapped up M.A.S.K. and getting ready to move to a new studio facility, we’re coming to the end of the Entertainment League Softball season. And what a season it’s been. But nothing could have prepared us – or you – for the shocker ending.
Â
Yeah, I know that softball seemingly doesn’t have a lot to do with writing or the entertainment industry, but sometimes ya need a break, and the softball team has been perfect for all of us at DIC Entertainment.
Â
Check it out!
Episode 25 has dropped at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts and I want to ask everyone who’s been following my Vlog to please check out this one because I’m asking for interaction with all of you.Â
Â
You’re also going to learn about my least favorite animated series I ever worked on. It’s weird, it’s wacky and, lo and behold, even though it started out as my least favorite, I got one heckuva lot out of it.
Episode 26 has dropped at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
After briefly explaining the one reason why Heathcliff & The Catillac Cats was a truly groundbreaking animated series, I’m taking a bit of a break from talking about animation so I can focus on the process of writing – specifically writing novels.
Yeah, I know not everyone thinks they’re interested in that, but I also think once you go on the ride and see how writers – or at least this writer – write novels, you’ll enjoy the trip.
Episode 27 has dropped at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
Today I’ll be spending another episode talking about the process of writing, before getting back to the television series I have worked on during a career that has spanned over forty years.Â
I get that not everyone is a writer, but I’m guessing, as I’ve said before, a lot of you like to know what goes on in the demented -- 🙂 -- minds of those who do write, and what that process entails. And as a bonus, I'm showing a screen shot of me and Kim on my iPhone!  So check it out…and enjoy.Â
So Episode 28 has dropped. It’s a different kind of episode for two reasons. First, you’ll see me wearing a suit and tie, something I rarely do. And no, I’m not going to a wedding or a funeral; just coming from a very important meeting and, as Kim says, I clean up good.Â
But much more importantly, this is the first episode in which I trace my Hollywood career that I embark on something very different than animation series scripts and, yes, it’s still with DIC Entertainment. So it’s an interesting detour, and one I think you’ll enjoy.

Ok, we're back in business, with Episode 30 dropping at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
Again, apologies for my missing the Tuesday drop due to my pneumonia vaccination the day before.  I think you'll like this episode, featuring some odd developments as I move into working on Mattel's Predicaments video game with superstar Joan Rivers.Â
Â
Episode 31 has dropped at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
Â
In this installment I get to go onto a set to see actors – OMG! – working on my script for my first live action project. Pretty heady stuff for a twenty-seven year old kid.Â
Â
Check it out and I tell you what the REAL Joan Rivers was like, as well as a mystery guest who will leave you gasping!!!
Â
Enjoy!
Episode 32 has dropped at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts a little early today. Check it out and enjoy my meeting with the WWF superstars. Also, get ready as I begin a new chapter in my television career.
Â
After this installment I’m going to switch to a couple of instructive installments on writing for television, film and novels since it’s been a while since we’ve had installments on that.
Â
Yes, Installment #33 of my Vlog has posted and yes I’m fifty minutes late letting you know. My bad. Sorry.Â
Â
In this installment we take a detour into talking about writing, how to soften the blow of rejection and how to turn it to your advantage.
Â
Enjoy. Check it out at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
Hi, everyone. Just to let you know, installment #34 has dropped early, hopefully making up for my notifying you about yesterday’s drop a little late.
Â
In this, my second of four installments about the business of writing, I reveal what I’m doing is trying to show you how to create your own Presentation Package for presenting a television series concept to broadcasters. Â
Yes, I know not everyone is interested creating and presenting a series to broadcasters. But I’m pretty sure most people would like to see how it’s done, so I’m going to show you how it’s worked for me over the years
And don’t worry, in a couple installments I’m going to show you how to get that Presentation Package to broadcasters. And after the next two installments, I promise we’ll return to my adventures at in television industry at DIC Entertainment.
Check it all at by going to https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
Well, a little different deal on posting of my Vlog installment -- #35 -- today. Kim's got a major event this evening and I'm escorting her to it. Since we won't be home this afternoon to tape, we taped the installment last night. And, since we won't be home to notify you that it's dropped, we're dropping it early today.
Bottom line, Installment #35 has already dropped at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
I've enjoyed doing these recent installments about writing.  Today is the third, dealing with how to write a pilot episode script.  With that done, those who want to sell a series -- or are interested in the process for selling a series -- will now be well on their way to having a complete Presentation Plan -- a Business Proposal, a Series Bible and a Pilot Episode Script -- with which to approach potential broadcasters with their series.  And I'll deal with how to do exactly that in Installment 36, which will top on Thursday.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy today's installment. Â Kim and I will drink a toast to all of you faithful viewers at the event tonight.
Episode 36 will drop next Tuesday.
After a temporary pause over an unintended but self-inflicted error, we’re back on track with Installment #36, which delineates a path for those who want to sell a television series or those who are interested in how it’s done, to accomplish that ambitious goal.
Â
As an aside, after this installment I’ll return to following my career and the Golden Age of Television Animation.
Â
Enjoy! And thanks for being a part of all this.Â
Well Episode 37 has dropped and we transition back to my career at DIC and the world of animation in the 80s.Â
Â
In this episode I continue working on Lady Lovely Locks, a wonderful series for young viewers. Balancing out my joy at working on the series is my crossing swords with DIC’s new VP of Creative Affairs, the first in a number of gaffes I’ll make.
Â
Remember, I promised to show you all side of my story…and I always keep my promises.
Â
Enjoy! Â Â
With the time change looming on the horizon, Kim has changed her office hours to an hour earlier, which means we can tape an hour earlier on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thus, Episode 38 has now dropped.
Â
It’s a fun episode with some ‘scary stuff’ about Lady Lovely Locks and the Pixie Tails as well as my first time meeting one of the truly towering figures from the Golden Age of Television Animation.
Â
Check it out and enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
Â
And here we go, with Episode 39 dropping at https://www.youtube.com/@jackolesker247/podcasts
In this installment I'll take you behind the scenes at DIC's art department and also reveal one of the problematic sides of the children's entertainment industry.
And for those of you who are enjoying the ride, please take a second to hit the Subscribe button at Episode 39 and also Like us. Â Thanks. Â
