Written by Mattel has just announced two exclusive figures to be sold together at the San Diego International Comic-Con this year on July 20th! Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of our favorite property Masters of the Universe, Mattel will be offering an exclusive Masterverse hero and villian 2-Pack featuring new versions of the iconic He-Man and Skeletor!
Both He-Man and Skeletor will be in the standard 7-inch Masterverse scale, with 30 points of articulation. But what really is astounding is both of these figures will include metal accessories. That’s right, He-Man and Skeletor will come included with die-cast weapons and armor!
And apparently it comes not with just two mini-comics, but a ring as well!
If you’re not attending the San Diego International Comic-Con this year, this two-pack will also be available at MattelCreations.com on 7/22 at 9am PT.
And that’s not all, apparently a playset is on the way too! Could we be finally getting a Masterverse Castle Grayskull? The site Gizmodo spoke with Mattel’s PJ Lewis and he revealed:
PJ LEWIS: “Let’s just say we certainly have detailed plans to expand Masterverse into 2023 and 2024 and beyond. As for something more specific, as some of our large format action figures soar, we’re also going to be introducing a specific playset that anchors the line which is going to be pretty fun. You’ll see more on that at Comic-Con, I hope.”
Plus MOTUesdays was announced, that will feature weekly announcements of new products or series info (which will likely include tidbits regarding “Masters of the Universe: Revolution”)! Check it out!
PJ LEWIS: Correct. It’s a way for fans to engage, a weekly thing that starts at Comic-Con essentially and is really going all the way through October 12 which, in case you didn’t know, is He-Man’s birthday, and we’re going to do some events. But I think [MOTUesdays] will answer some of the questions you have about the longevity of the figure lines, and how we’re going to bring more into the figure lines here. We will be announcing more on what we’re doing around the new show and more ways that we can extend Masterverse. There is a lot to come.
This is exciting news Masters of the Universe fans! Hopefully we’ll get some announcements of Revelation Masterverse figures as well!
