When Teela actress Camila Mendes took a small break from filming the new “Masters of the Universe” Movie recently to push her new film “Idiotka“, Camila spoke with Collider about the new MOTU film.

Covering a broad range of topics surrounding He-Man, Teela and the film itself… here is what the new Captain of the Royal Guard had to say about all of it:
What about Nicholas Galitzine‘s performance as He-Man makes it unique?
CAMILIA MENDES: "I feel like if I were to tell you that, it would completely give away a huge plot point, but I think it'd be his sense of humor. He's very funny, very talented, and very funny."

Comparing “Masters of the Universe” to a Superhero Universe:
CAMILIA MENDES: "Yeah, I mean, to be honest, I've always dreamed of being in a project like this, and there's something that is so special about it because it doesn't have the same fanbase as Marvel or DC. It feels like it's a fresh superhero universe. It hasn't really been reinvented in a long time. It's exciting to create this world and in a less pressured environment, if that makes sense."

Teela’s character arc:
CAMILIA MENDES: I think the project itself is just really fun and funny and has layers and beautiful arcs and stories. I love Teela's character so much, and I relate to her in so many ways that I can't really talk about, but I think that's all I can say about that."

Filming for “Masters of the Universe” is currently underway with the movie scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide on June 5th, 2026.
And thanks to Karen, He-Lord and Nicholas Galitzine Nation for the ‘heads up’!
We’ll see you next time.
MOTCU
Masters of the Cinematic Universe
According to her it should be – Masters of the Comedic Universe.
Oh no…..
“if i were to tell you that, it would give away a huge plot point"
hmm, what does that mean? 🤔
maybe that….. *gasps* adam and he-man are the same person?! 🤯
lmao 😂
seriously tho, i’m very curious as to what camila ment by “a new superhero universe".
could she be hinting at more motu sequels in the docket, perhaps?
i know amazon mgm is also doing a pop series for streaming, what if that was the same universe/continuity as the upcoming movie?
can y’all imagine a motu cinematic universe with multiple movies and shows?
Good lord, no more cinematic universes! Just make a stand-alone, well-written movie. Also, considering how poorly “superhero" films have done in general over the past few years, that was a poorly chosen comparison.
