...looks gorgeous! But am I the only one a little miffed that they are changing their packaging half way through the line (or however long they keep it going)? I currently display my Masterverse collection "in box", all lined up on my shelves showing the character artwork on the side. That won't really work too well after the switch, since they change the angles of the box and now include the character name next to the artwork. I mean, not the end of the world, but an odd decision on Mattels' part?

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m a MOC collector and it really peeves me. Granted the new boxes are an improvement, whoever put the bar code on the front of the boxes should have been fired
The large portrait is now a mangled mess the way its wrapped around the packaging with a chunk removed thanks to that window. It should remain on the back.

What about the size of the window in the new box design? I don't really collect Masterverse, but if I did I feel that the smaller window would bug me due to the fact that the figures seem to be a bit 'hidden' more than they were before. Plus as an in box collector I'm just not crazy about that smaller window display at all, and I don't even collect them lol. Â
@depp76 I believe Mattel said at this year's SDCC that the reasoning behind the smaller window was to reduce plastic and be more environmentally conscious. - To meet consumers in the middle somewhere, versus having no window like some companies have tried which seems to have a negative impact on retail store impulse buying.

Ahhh okay then. Well I guess that's much better than no window at all lol. Â

I do think the packaging look is a big improvement. I'm not really collecting Masterverse other than a few select figures, and they're all opened, so I'm not affected, but I understand it can be a bummer if you collect MOC
@admin This is what a lot of companies are doing but it really makes no sense. Take Disney world for example, they only hand out paper straws but give you plastic cups. Lol I don’t get it

{he-man}
They got to. Those cups would fall apart fast from sweating in that heat bro and be all over your feet in no time

I would guess Mattel sees any partial cutback of plastic used in the disposable packaging as a step in the right direction, a reduction that Mattel and their investors can measure at the end of their fiscal year... which probably looks nice in a press release too.

Mattel Creations still has their Black Friday sale going. I picked up Merman and Skelly from wave 2 for $11 each
They still have artwork on the side.

Indeed. Recieved Man-at-arms yesterday. It looks alright when lined up with the older releases. The depth of the box is the same (or almost), so it works out in t hat respect. The artwork also fits, but due to the added character label, it looks a bit cropped and angled on one side. Still, not a major issue in the end. Truth be told, I think this new design is probably even superior, would have been nice if they had launched the line with it instead of switching now.Â
While the face art is beautiful on the new spines I wish the artwork stayed consistent throughout and they all had faces. Or not.
